Copsale Hall Nest box Building Day
 2nd February 2003

We had a fantastic turnout for this and all of the 30 box kits that countryside rangers Geraldine Fewster and Pauline Chandler brought along for us, were made up. Check this link if you missed out.

The noise of 30 boxes being hammered together on a Sunday morning by very enthusiastic kids didn't do much for my hangover but the results were certainly very worthwhile.

Can all of the participants please let us know, via the web site forum, what types of birds you managed to get nesting later in the year. If you send me pictures of your nest box in the garden, preferably with you in the picture too, I will add it to the site.

Special thanks to Pauline and Geraldine for giving up their time on the Sunday and for making all of the kits for us to finish off.

Donations for the boxes plus the coffee and tea sales organised by Sheila Mayes made a total of £87. We split the money half for the Hall maintenance fund and half for the countryside rangers for the providing the materials.

Does anyone have any more ideas like this? We may have a kids guided walk through Southwater country park later. Let us know in the forum if you would be interested.
