Autumn to Winter 2004/05

 

 

FUNGUS FORAY & AUTUMN WALK – SUNDAY 17th OCTOBER, 2 pm

 

Jonathan Simons has once again organised the Fungus Foray. By kind permission, this years quest will be in the grounds of Gaveston Hall. You may drive into the grounds from the Maplehurst Road, take the left-hand fork and park as directed. Sorry – on this occasion, no dogs are allowed. BONFIRE & FIREWORKS – SATURDAY 6th NOVEMBER, 5 pm

 

Another fine night has been ordered for this popular event at the Copsale Road entrance to Maplehurst Farm. Guy competition judging at 5.45 pm, lighting the bonfire at 6 pm and fireworks at 6.15 pm. Hot food and refreshments will be available, including Fiona’s delicious Mulled Wine! This year we need lots of guys to judge, so start now.

 

CHRISTMAS at MICKLEPAGE BARN – SATURDAY 11th DEC, 7.30 pm

 

The popular Pot-Luck Supper Party for adult Nuthurst Society members. We will have a licensed bar and even more of Fiona’s legendary Mulled Wine. Tickets in advance, and limited, will be available from Dorothy Hatfield on 891592 or Fiona Davies on 891761

 

FATHER CHRISTMAS VISIT – SUNDAY 19th DECEMBER, start 4.30 pm

 

We expect another visit from Santa on his magic sleigh, bringing presents to all the good boys & girls of the hamlets. Details from Fiona Davies on 891761, nearer the time.

 

WINE TASTING QUIZ – SATURDAY 29th JANUARY, 7.30 pm

 

We are planning another memorable event in Copsale Village Hall. Please watch this space and notice boards for further details, but note the date for your social diary!

 

CHAIRMAN’S CHILLI, CHIPS & QUIZ – SATURDAY 26th FEBRUARY

 

Another date for your diary. Members will be invited to the Chairman’s house to partake in supper and a quiz. Numbers will be limited & by ticket only. Further details to follow.

 

WEST SUSSEX RECORDS OFFICE TALK – TUESDAY 1st MARCH

 

We are privileged to welcome Caroline Adams from the WSRO for a talk to be held in St. Andrews’s School Hall. She will enlighten us about the information they hold on people and places, and how it can be accessed, particularly with reference to the local area. Light refreshments will be available.
